American football is big business. It is used by the financial elite as a device to blindside the populace from real issues about their world by creating a false sense of “rivalry” which paves the road to manufacturing “camaraderie”. Rivalry and camaraderie are concepts that can be packaged nicely and used by profiteers. The US government, ruled by the financial elite, has used this model effectively to gain support for wars which the public would defiantly protest against if it knew the dire and very real consequences.
You can buy team jerseys to proudly declare and publicly announce whose side you’re on. A known truth of the human condition is the need to belong. If you can manufacture this and sell it, you have control over who falls for it. These fan items are most likely made overseas under cheap and inhumane labor. It is not a stretch to say that a single manufacturing plant could produce products for different teams, in fact, it would be wise after considering the cost-benefit analysis. I mention this because it is pure cognitive dissonance to hold deep beliefs about the differences between “your team” and the “other team” when there are virtually none.
The Super Bowl is America’s highest “professional” level in football. It is one of the most watched sporting events in the world. It is second in rank next to Thanksgiving for the most food consumed in a single day. Knowing this, the financial elite, who have put this system in place, would be foolish to not take advantage of the grand attention of the world, especially America’s. We know the advantage taken by the financial elite: advertisements. Billions are spent on crafting memorable advertisements for the Big Game. I would imagine the people who create these advertisements have great pride in the “work”. Let’s not forget that we should be wary of those seeking our attention. Advertisements are weapons to satiate and used to create false needs in order to sell and profit the elite.
Tomorrow, Super Bowl Sunday will feature two teams who are effectively identical to me. They are owned by billionaires. However, one team is much worse than the other and that is the New England Patriots. Team owner Robert Craft, coach Bill Belichick, and Tom Brady have actively avoided denouncing Trump. It is no secret that they are pro-Trump. Given their standing and ultra privilege, it is a grave error and calculated evil to stand by as their friend and bully sits spewing hate under the label of President of the United States. Arthur Blank, owner of the Atlanta Falcons, has the decency to call Donald Trump out on his failure to recognize the Holocaust – though this isn’t surprising since he is Jewish.
If I were a different life form observing life on planet Earth, I would be hard pressed to not find the parallels between slavery of our past and the current state of professional football teams. It seems a majority of the people who play on football teams are black while the majority of owners are white. Would it be a stretch to say football players are highly paid slaves of their white masters? I worry too about the health of the highly paid slaves who game after game sustain head injury after head injury and for what?
It is disheartening to me to see people divided, especially more so when it is intentionally crafted. Heavy testosterone will fill the stadiums tomorrow and some violence will ensue as is usually the case with these kinds of events. A false victor will rise after the dust has settled. Manufactured anger, joy and happiness will be experienced. So, while we are “enjoying” the comforts of America we should be aware and cast heavy analysis at the advertisements and question their motives. It is only fair to ourselves. Let us not lose focus on relevant issues of the day and the current state of affairs. We must continue and seek to dismantle the United State’s oppressive grip on the world. We must deny the financial elites of their need to feed their greed and restore true balance, if not, I imagine other countries, in their sadness, are saying their Hail Mary’s while we throw ours.
